Back in February 2013, I travelled to Indonesia to visit one place and once place only. I’d only vaguely heard about it, and it was always in conjunction with Angkor Wat. The people waxing lyrical about Angkor would also mention Borobudur in passing. I was intrigued to say the least until I researched it online it and the images I saw literally took my breath away, and it was settled. I was going there.
This is one of many photos I took whilst staying in Magelang. Standing alone watching the sun go down behind Mt Merapi The confluence of emotions that go through your head is overwhelming, you just feel content. To be there standing in arguably one of most awe-inspiring Buddhist temples to have been built was amazing and as person who doesn’t follow faith, it was somewhat spiritual.
